PROVIDING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR TOURISM DEVELOPMENT. Region 2 officials from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) have provided the local government unit (LGU) of Santa Praxedes technical assistance to aid the tourism development in the municipality.

Regional Executive Director (RED) Gwendolyn Bambalan of DENR Region 2 together with representatives of the DPWH discussed and resolved with the local government officials issues and concerns pertaining to environment and public works regulatory functions for infrastructure projects.

The meeting will pave the way to attract tourists in Sta. Praxedes which is known for its majestic forest landscape and clean coastline. "We encourage the LGU to consider our direction to promote climate resilience while providing livelihood to local communities," said Director Bambalan.

Mayor Esterlina Aguinaldo of Santa Praxedes also said bringing development in the locality in collaboration with government partner agencies will enhance not only the ecotourism area in the locality but also improve the livelihood of the farmers and fishermen by having a farm-to-market road to bring and promote their products.

In Claveria town, RED Bambalan also met DENR and LGU staff to tackle the improvement of land titling process in said town and other municipalities covering the jurisdiction of the community environment and natural resources office in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan.

To facilitate the land titling procedures, the regional environment chief urged the local chief executive to strengthen the collaboration of DENR and LGU through forging of a Memorandum of Partnership Agreement that will create an office in the LGU to facilitate acceptance of patent applications.

Lucille Angelus Guillen-Yapo, municipal mayor of Claveria, committed to support the move for the benefits of her constituents and for the attainment of the town’s economic stability through an improved land management administration.#
