APPREHENDED ILLEGAL FOREST PRODUCTS. In an effort to intensify forest protection and law enforcement in the region, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources through the Cagayan Valley Forest Products Monitoring Station (CAVAPROMS) in Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya has apprehended yesterday a total of P1,378,915.00 worth of undocumented forest products.
 
In a spot report issued by the CAVAPROMS, the apprehended 141 pieces Narra (Pterocarpus indicus) lumber with a total volume of 2,757.83 bd. ft. was loaded in a blue Canter van with plate number TPW 930 owned by Wellmade MFG Corporation.
The driver and the truck helper who are both from the province of Pampanga came from Alfonsolista, Ifugao and was heading to Meycauayan, Bulacan. They are now facing violation against Section 77 of Presidential Decree No. 705 or the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines.
 
The apprehended forest products and conveyance are deposited at the CAVAPROMS for safekeeping pending the conduct of administrative confiscation proceedings.#
