DUTERTE LEGACY CARAVAN. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 2 has participated yesterday in the Duterte Legacy “Barangayanihan Caravan”, the convergence of all national government agencies (NGAs) which aims to bring government services closer to the people.
The activity was highlighted with the setting up of photo exhibits showcasing the priority programs; and distribution of basic goods and services, and extending of technical assistance by the different government agencies.
According to Enforcement Division Chief and event focal person Joel Daquioag who represented DENR Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn Bambalan, a total of 426 bamboo and indigenous forest tree seedlings were distributed. He said some land, forestry, mining and environment concerns of clients were also addressed.
The Duterte Legacy Caravan also consolidates the efforts of the government in its fight against insurgency. It also supports the implementation of Executive Order No. 70, s. 2018 known as “Institutionalizing the Whole-of-Nation Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace, Creating a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, and Directing the Adoption of National Peace Framework”.
Joining in the Police Regional Office-led caravan were Assistant Regional Executive Director Marcos Dacanay, Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Director Mario Ancheta, Environmental Management Bureau Regional Director Nelson Honrado, and other DENR officials.#
