OPLAN HULI WEEK 2022. To intensify forest protection activities this Lent season, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 2 has launched the ‘Oplan Huli Week’ with the theme ‘Handang Ugnayan Laban sa Ilegal na gawain sa kalikasan’.
 
DENR Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn Bambalan said the operation, a regular activity of the agency, is in coordination with the law enforcement agencies to address illegal environmental activities.
 
“As perpetrators of illegal forest activities would take advantage while we observe the Lent, the DENR and our partner law enforcement agencies will monitor 24/7 the illegal trasport of forests products,” said Director Bambalan in a recent press conference.
 
Police Brigadier General Romaldo Bayting of the Philippine National Police and Captain Rigor Pamittan of the Philippine Army expressed full support in the operation and committed the vigilant and active participation of uniformed personnel in the conduct of surveillance operations and monitoring activities.
 
In Region 2, there are 15 mobile checkpoints and 11 stationary forest products monitoring checkpoints.#
