SEAGRASS MONITORING

SEAGRASS MONITORING - Technical staff of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office in Batanes monitor the condition of seagrass and corals as part of the Biodiversity Monitoring System (BMS). The monitoring was conducted on May 19, this year along Barangay Malakdang of Sabtang town, one of the three monitoring sites in the island municipality. The other sites are Nakanmuan and Giraya. The BMS aims to improve the information available for decision-makers in protected areas through the regular collection of data on natural biological resources and their utilization.#
