Owl turnover
 
BACK TO THE FOREST. A Philippine Scops owl (Otus megalotis) was released today, Jan. 4 to the forest within Dupax Watershed Forest Reserve in Nueva Vizcaya by the personnel of CENR Office Dupax headed by For. Jay Marshal Jasmin.
 
The wildlife species, in good condition, was turned over by Marc Deo Vallo, 26, a resident of Purok Rang-ay, Malasin, Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya to the DENR field office in Dupax yesterday at 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
 
According to Mr. Vallo, the wildlife entered their house at dawn and was unable to escape. He captured the owl and immediately turned over to the CENR Office Dupax for proper care.
 
The Philippine Scops owl is a common owl endemic to the Philippines and belong to the family of the typical owls Strigidae.# (CENRO Dupax)
