TRASH-FREE ENVIRONMENT. Around 20 sacks of solid wastes were collected during the cleanup drive recently conducted along the Magat River in Vista Alegre, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
 
The activity, in celebration of the Zero Waste Month was spearheaded by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office.
 
Majority of the wastes collected were plastic bottles, plastic wrappers, cans, tin foils, diapers and cigarette butts. These were segregated prior to transporting to the material recovery facilities.
 
Punong Barangay Pepito Sebbey thanked DENR for spearheading the activity to encourage his constituents to diligently practice solid waste management especially that their barangay is near the river.
 
Aside from DENR employees, the cleanup drive was also participated in by barangay officials and residents.
 
Meanwhile, to educate the youth on proper waste segregation and disposal, printed materials were distributed to elementary schools in Dupax del Norte as part of information, education and communication activities.#
