In support of the Department of Educationโs advocacy for reading dubbed โ๐๐ข๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฏ: ๐๐ข๐ธ๐ข๐ต ๐๐ข๐ต๐ข ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฃ๐ข๐ด๐ขโ, the provincial environment and natural resources office in Batanes conducted an after-school reading mediation featuring the stories โ๐๐ข๐บ๐ฐ ๐๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ช๐ฌ๐ข๐ด๐ข๐ฏโ and โSarah: ๐๐ข๐ช๐ฃ๐ช๐จ๐ข๐ฏ ๐ฏ๐จ ๐ฎ๐จ๐ข ๐๐ข๐ด๐ถ๐ณ๐ขโ among 40 Grade III students of Diptan Elementary School in San Antonio,
Basco, Batanes.
The story-reading entitled โ๐๐ณ๐ช๐จ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข ๐๐ข๐จ๐ฃ๐ข๐ด๐ขโ led by Information Officer Nesley Maye Reyes and ENR Ambassador Amry Jane Salengua aims to introduce basic concepts of environmental awareness and responsibility among the pupils.
Environmental games were also facilitated to the students that featured the identification of extinct animals and world animals, including the recycling of waste.
To sustain the environmental education in the said school, various information, education, and communication materials were distributed to the school advisers and participants.
The activity was conducted in accordance with the schoolโs second phase of Project Reading AYUDA (Assisting Young Learners for better Understanding and Development through Active Reading).#
