In support of the Department of Educationโ€™s advocacy for reading dubbed โ€œ๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ: ๐˜‰๐˜ข๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜‰๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ข ๐˜‰๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ฃ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ขโ€, the provincial environment and natural resources office in Batanes conducted an after-school reading mediation featuring the stories โ€œ๐˜›๐˜ข๐˜บ๐˜ฐ ๐˜ˆ๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜’๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฌ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ข๐˜ฏโ€ and โ€œSarah: ๐˜’๐˜ข๐˜ช๐˜ฃ๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ฎ๐˜จ๐˜ข ๐˜‰๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ขโ€ among 40 Grade III students of Diptan Elementary School in San Antonio, Basco, Batanes.
 
The story-reading entitled โ€œ๐˜‰๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ข๐˜ฅ๐˜ข ๐˜—๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ฃ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ขโ€ led by Information Officer Nesley Maye Reyes and ENR Ambassador Amry Jane Salengua aims to introduce basic concepts of environmental awareness and responsibility among the pupils.
 
Environmental games were also facilitated to the students that featured the identification of extinct animals and world animals, including the recycling of waste.
 
To sustain the environmental education in the said school, various information, education, and communication materials were distributed to the school advisers and participants.
 
The activity was conducted in accordance with the schoolโ€™s second phase of Project Reading AYUDA (Assisting Young Learners for better Understanding and Development through Active Reading).#
