𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗦. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 2 has partnered today with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) for the development of forest plantation in Lannig, Solana, Cagayan.
The partnership was forged through signing of Memorandum of Agreement by DENR Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn Bambalan and BJMP Regional Director Ma. Annie Espinosa.
 
Director Bambalan instructed Solana Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer Andres Guiquing to allot up to five hectares for the tree growing endeavors of the partner-agency.
 
The BJMP committed to maintain and protect the planting site and will continue to support the Department's tree growing and reforestation activities. “We have our own established nursery and we wish to enrich it for our future greening programs,” said Director Espinosa.
 
For the part of DENR, indigenous tree seedlings will be provided to the BJMP. A fire line will also be established for the protection of the area.
 
Director Bambalan also vowed to provide the jail bureau technical assistance in growing bamboos through the mechanized and modernized forest nursery in Solana town.#
