WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2022 – In celebration of the World Environment Day every June 5 of each year, personnel from the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office in Batanes conducted a cleanup drive in Sitio Diura, Uvoy in Mahatao town.
 
A total of 13 sacks of hard plastics, three sacks of styrofoam, two sacks of soft plastics and a sack of glass bottles were collected during the cleanup.
 
In Tuguegarao City, indigenous fruit-bearing seedlings were distributed to walk-in clients and visitors at the DENR Regional Office.
 
A video-making contest dubbed "Search for Barangay Basura Buster" was also launched to showcase the best practices in solid waste management implementation in the region.
 
The celebration of World Environment Day was led by the United Nations Environment Program in 1973, and has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental outreach.#
