NATIONAL FLAG DAYS CELEBRATION. In reverence for the country's symbol of national sovereignty, the regional and field offices of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 2 join the nation by displaying flags and flaglets within the office premises to commemorate the Philippine National Flag Days from May 28-June 12, this year.

This act of patriotism is yearly observed by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 374 s. 1965 and Executive Order No. 79 s. 1994 known as "Declaring May 28 as National Flag Day" and "Celebrating National Flag Days from May 28 to June 12", respectively.

The National Flag Day aims to commemorate the first unfurling of the Philippine flag after the victory of the Philippine Revolutionary Army against the Spanish forces in Imus, Cavite in 1898.#
