IMPLEMENTING UNIFIED APPROACH IN ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING. Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn Bambalan of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 2 has directed the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) to implement a unified approach in environmental monitoring activities of the Department.

“We have to have a common understanding on the different procedures and guidelines that we are implementing especially in monitoring of our environmental programs and projects,” RED Bambalan said during the opening program of the four-day First Basic Training Course for DENR Environmental Monitoring Officers (EnMOs) and Pollution Control Officers (PCOs) held at the EMB Regional Office on May 24, this year.

She also added that the said directive is in consonance with the Department Administrative Order (DAO) No. 2018-18 known as “Establishing a Centralized Management and Coordinative Mechanism at the Regional Offices of DENR, MGB and EMB, and Designating the Regional Director as the Regional Executive Director Providing Overall Command of Regional Operations”.

“I encourage the participants to apply all the learnings they will acquire from this training for them to excellently perform their duties and responsibilities when they get back to their respective offices,” the regional environment chief added.

RED Bambalan also recognized the EMB under the leadership of Regional Director Nelson Honrado for conducting a learning event for the EnMOs and PCOs.#
