IMPROVED ECOTOURISM FACILITIES. Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn Bambalan of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Cagayan Valley has monitored the improvement of ecotourism facilities within the Fuyot Spring Natural Park (FSNP) in the City of Ilagan, Isabela.

FSNP is a protected area co-managed by the DENR and the city government.

“With the construction of the elevated boardwalk, our tourists will have better access to the different attractions available in the park,” said Director Bambalan as she discussed to her technical staff the plan for the inauguration of the completed facility.

She added that the establishment of the P1.2 million worth project located along a creek will serve as trail in going to the Pinzal Falls, one of the natural attractions in the park. Tourists rarely reached the waterfalls due to the impassable old trail which were damaged by frequent flooding.

Joining RED Bambalan during the monitoring activity were Conservation and Development Division Chief Enrique Pasion, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Federico Cauilan, Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer Rolando Siggayo, Protected Area Superintendent Junee Amor Mijares, and other DENR and local government unit personnel.#
