This activity is in support of the tall order of DENR Secretary Jim Sampulna to intensify the promotion of environmentally conscious national election campaign.

 

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution no. 10730 or the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act 9006 prohibits the posting of campaign materials on trees, plants, and shrubs located along public roads, in plazas, parks, school premises or any public grounds.

 

Joining the DENR in the said operation were officials from the COMELEC, Department of Public Works and Highways, and Philippine National Police.

 

The team collected a total of 98 campaign materials in the towns of Basco, Mahatao, Ivana and Uyugan.

“We are happy that our partner agencies are supportive to this cause. We agreed to conduct the operation regularly,” said PENR Officer Victoria Baliuag.#
