MAKING IMPACT BEYOND THE HOUR. Personnel of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 2 observed Earth Hour on March 26, this year, the largest environmental movement in the world. Switching off the lights and other non-essential electrical appliances for one hour from 8:30-9:30 p.m. was not only about committing for one hour on one day, it is about committing every day to shape a brighter future for people and our planet. Earlier, DENR Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn Bambalan has enjoined all employees in the department including partners and stakeholders to observe the Earth Hour as a global campaign to save our planet. With the theme “#Connect2Earth,” the yearly observance of Earth Hour aims to increase awareness and spark global conversations to protect nature, tackle climate crisis and commit everybody’s participation towards a better planet.#
