SUPPORTING NATIONAL VACCINATION DRIVE. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region (DENR) Region 2 supports the National COVID-19 Vaccination Days dubbed “Bayanihan, Bakunahan. Ligtas. Lakas. Buong Pinas.”
DENR Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn Bambalan has earlier ordered the attendance of DENR personnel in the motorcade and launching activity held today at the Department of Health (DOH) Regional Office.
She also requested interested DENR employees to join the DOH regional team in administering vaccines in the three-day massive vaccination program.
“We recognize the DOH for its continued quest to fight the corona virus disease and for facilitating the vaccination of our 1,821 employees,” Director Bambalan said.
She reported that as of today, 83 percent of the total number of DENR Region 2 employees are now fully vaccinated.
During the launch, DOH Assistant Secretary Kenneth Ronquillo has assured the ample supply of vaccines to be administered. He recognized the Cagayan Valley’s vaccination performance rate of 69.55% from its total population already near to the target 70% herd immunity.
“Sa datos ng huling Social Weather Survey, tumaas na ang bahagdan ng nais magpabakuna mula 33%-64%. Sana tumaas pa ang ating vaccination rate. Sama-sama tayong maging bayani para sa ating kaligtasan,” the DOH official underscored.
Meanwhile, Regional Director Rio Magpantay of the DOH thanked the full support of the attendees. He stressed that receiving COVID-19 vaccines has really contributed to the decreasing number of people infected with virus, thus, hospitalization and death rates were minimized.
He also said that the 540,000 vaccinees targetted for the three-day period will increase the region’s inoculation rate and lower the COVID-19 cases.
The nationwide massive vaccination is pursuant to Republic Act 11525 s. 2021 known as an “Act Establishing the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Expediting the Vaccine Procurement and Adminsitration Process, Providing Funds Therefor, and For Other Purposes.#
