BUILDING EXCELLENT SERVICE THROUGH RECRUITMENT. Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn Bambalan of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 2 administered earlier the oath of office of the eight newly appointed employees in the Regional Office and in the province of Cagayan.

The regional environment chief congratulated the appointees and encouraged them to be more productive in their new job carrying into themselves their commitment and good performance.

“As the appointing authority, I am always particular with the way you carried the work in your previous assignment. The good performance you exhibited in the past means a lot in arriving better output as you exercise the duties and responsibilities embedded to your position,” said RED Bambalan.

She reminded them to continue learning and gaining new things. “Begin with an end in mind. You have to provide your direction, your plan and execute that. Sharpen your saw. Do not be contented with what you know but keep on learning instead,” the DENR regional chief added.

In choosing among the top five applicants, she said infusing new breed in the bureaucracy is one of her considerations. “The position in the government service is not only for those employees of the department. If it is necessary to bring in new people so that we can also generate practices coming from the other agency, then I would do so,” she said.

She also recognized in her message the efforts of the Human Resource Merit Promotion and Selection Board (HRMPSB).

Assistant Regional Directors Marcos Dacanay and Ismael Manaligod, PENR Officer Eliseo Mabasa, other members of the HRMPSB, and family members of the newly appointed employees also witnessed the ceremony.#
