LOOK: Personnel of the Community Environment and Natural Resources (CENR) Office in Cauayan City, Isabela conduct strip brushing and weeding today in a National Greening Program (NGP) plantation in San Pablo, Cauayan City.
The five-hectare NGP site established in 2011 now serves as a mini forest in the city.
CENR Officer Diosdado Contillo said with the initiative of the personnel and in partnership with the Philippine Air Force and Philippine National Police, the area was planted with more than 5,000 seedlings of Narra, Banaba, Gmelina and Japanese Acacia.
According to For. Isagani Castillo, NGP coordinator, some species of birds, bayawak and snakes have been sighted in the plantation site.#
