PROMOTING EMPLOYEES’ HEALTH AND WELLNESS. A total of 101 employees of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources participated in mass screening for tuberculosis (TB) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in Tuguegarao City on July 15, 2021.

The activity was conducted by the National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) of the Department of Health through the Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development (CVCHD) in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress.

Free chest x-ray procedures, and sputum samples were collected among employees with signs and symptoms of TB.

According to CVCHD, TB cases identified from the chest x-ray screening will be given prompt intervention.

Meanwhile, HIV screening was also conducted to create awareness on HIV prevention, diagnosis and treatment and to strengthen the collaborative TB-HIV activities amidst COVID-19.

The employees were subjected to swab test prior to the conduct of screening procedures to ensure safety. #
