ENSURING LAND OWNERSHIP SECURITY. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the local government units (LGUs) of Cagayan and Isabela sign the agreement formalizing partnership for land titling.

In celebration of the Handog Titulo Month, DENR Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn C. Bambalan; Mayor Kervin Francis Uy of Burgos and Mayor Jose Calderon of Mallig in Isabela; and Mayor Esterlina Aguinaldo of Sta. Praxedes, Mayor Matthew Nolasco of Gattaran represented by Sannguniang Bayan Member Marlon Binuela, and Mayor Angelica dela Cruz of Camalaniugan in Cagayan inked the memorandum of partnership agreement for the implementation of the Rapid Land Tenure Appraisal (RLTA) on Sept. 21 and 22.

RED Bambalan in her message recognized the support of the LGUs not only on land administration and management but in all the programs of the DENR. She also pinned her hopes that other LGUs will followsuit to facilitate land titling for residential, agricultural and government sites in the region.

The DENR Region 2 chief reminded the field officials to exercise due diligence in the processing of patent applications. "While it is true that we are fast tracking the processing of public land applications, we should not forget our policies and regulations," she added.

The RLTA is a mechanism to expedite issuance of land titles. It is pursuant to the 10-point economic agenda of Pres. Duterte to ensure security of land tenure, to encourage investments, and to address bottlenecks in land management and titling agencies.
The local chief executives accepted the partnership and promised to fully support the land administration and management program of the DENR.

DENR Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services Marcos G. Dacanay, Isabela PENR Officer Marlon C. Agnar, Cagayan PENR Officer Ismael T. Manaligod, division chiefs Eliseo D. Mabasa and Enrique Q. Pasion, and the CENR Officers of the two provinces witnessed the MOPA signing.#
