RECOGNIZING PARTNERS. Municipal Executive Senior Police Officer (MESPO) Bernabe Agustin and Police Investigator Leo Jose Vicente Wigan of Diffun Municipal Police Station (MPS) receive certificates of commendation from DENR Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn C. Bambalan on July 29.
 
The police officers were commended for their contribution to the government's campaign against illegal logging in Quirino province. Their vigilance resulted in the apprehension of 5,200 board feet of illegally cut and undocumented assorted common hardwood amounting to about P260,000. The lumber were seized in separate incidents in Cabarroguis, Diffun and Aglipay towns.
 
"We are thankful for the support you've given the DENR in our drive against illegal logging," Director Bambalan said in her message. She said as a result of the meeting with Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Director Crizaldo O. Nieves, the DENR will forge a memorandum of agreement with the PNP and other law enforcers to intensify campaign against illegal logging and violation of environmental laws.
 
In his response, MESPO Agustin assured the continued support of the police. "Ang buong pwersa ng kapulisan dito sa Diffun ay kaisa ninyo sa kampanya laban sa illegal logging," he said.
 
Police officers assigned at Aglipay MPS and Cabarroguis MPS were also commended.
 
Assisting Director Bambalan during the awarding rites were PENR Officer Mariam Frances T. Malana and Diffun CENR Officer Mindo N. Aquino. Regional Director Mario A. Ancheta of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau also joined the ceremony.#
