WOMEN PARTNERSHIP. DENR Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn C. Bambalan pays a courtesy visit to Mayor Esterlina A. Aguinaldo of Sta. Praxedes, Cagayan before assessing the situation of the Cagayan Valley Products Monitoring Station located at the north exit of Region 2.

The courtesy visit paved the way for a stronger partnership on environmental management between the two lady executives as Director Bambalan expressed appreciation of the good forest cover of the municipality.

Mayor Aguinaldo discussed political boundary disputes with nearby towns in Regions 1 and 2 which Director Bambalan committed to address by providing technical assistance that would aid in resolving the issue.

"It is better for the municipal local government units to discuss their concerns on political boundaries among their adjoining municipalities before elevating these to the provinces. Once the LGUs concerned agreed on their boundaries then the DENR can extend technical assistance in the actual ground delineation," the regional environment chief emphasized.

The local chief executive also discussed her request for the DENR's intervention on landslides in the municipality brought about by Typhoon Tisoy where numerous trees were uprooted.

Mayor Aguinaldo thanked the DENR for the memorandum of partnership agreement in the implementation of the Rapid Land Tenure Assessment in her town. "Malaking tulong ito sa amin. In fact, our Sanguniang Bayan will be having a special session for the matter," she said.

PENR Officer Ismael T. Manaligod and CENR Officer Mario C. Bungubung joined the RED in the visit.#
