PREPARING BANGAN HILL 'PAGNA-NILAY' 2023. The Protected Area Management Board for Bangan Hill National Park (BHNP) in Nueva Vizcaya met recently in a special meeting to discuss the health and safety protocol in preparation for the activities to be undertaken in the upcoming Lenten season.
 
The BHNP located in the municipality of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya is also site of the annual "Stations of the Cross" staged by the local Catholic church. During lent, it features live performances and reenactment of Jesus Christ's crucifixion and death.
 
“We have to take precautionary measures against the risks of COVID-19. We encourage devotees who will be visiting the park not to bring their small kids including their family members with health problems,” Regional Executive Director Gwendolyn Bambalan of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) underscored.
 
She also enjoined members from the catholic church, knights of Columbus and municipal local government unit of Bayombong to convene and finalize measures in accommodating the visitors and tourists.
 
“Devotees and tourists who will be visiting the protected area will have to undergo pre-registration for monitoring purposes of the Protected Area Management Office," the PAMB chairperson added.
 
During the holy week, the park will allow up to maximum of 3,000 visitors per day.
 
The collection of fees visiting the BHNP from April 5-8, this year will be waived.#
